Frank Bianca was born on April 2, 1911
at Patchogue, New York. He was the son of Louisa (Garafola) and
Giuseppe Bianca. Bianca was inducted into the Army on December 11,
1942. As a Private First Class he was stationed in Boston, New
Jersey and Camp Upton, New York. At Fort Reardon in New Jersey he
served as an interpreter for Italian prisoners. Late in the war Camp
Upton at Yaphank was turned into a convalescent hospital for
returning veterans'. Bianca was transferred to Camp Upton where he
served as a Psychiatric Social Worker helping returning veterans
adjust. He was awarded the American Service Medal and a Good Conduct
Medal. Bianca was separated from the Army on December 22nd 1945 at
Fort Dix, New Jersey.
