Student-Musicians Selected for NYSSMA All-State Music Conference

Student-Musicians Selected for  NYSSMA All-State Music Conference Longwood High School students will join top musicians across New York State at the prestigious New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Conference held in Rochester, NY, from December 5 – December 8, 2019. 

Senior Tatyana Davis (treble chorus) has been recognized for her exemplary musical excellence for the second consecutive year, and junior McKenna Fenimore (chorus) has been named an alternate. 

“Each year, our exceptionally talented high school students are selected to perform with the best musicians in New York State,” said Dr. John J. Gallagher, Longwood’s Director of Music and Fine Arts. “Their selection is a testament to the sequential, quality music education we provide. Our students are active in various ensembles that provide them with different performance experiences. We could not be more proud of their dedication and commitment.”
The process for selecting an All-State musician includes teacher recommendations, audition scores at the NYSMMA solo evaluation festival during the prior spring, and exemplary participation in other performing organizations.
