Edmour Gagnon
Edmour Gagnon was
born on November 8, 1924 at Riverhead, New York. He was the son of
Anna (Larsen) and Edmour Gagnon. He was inducted into the Army on
March 25th, 1944 at Camp Upton, New York. Gagnon spent 14
weeks at Camp Blandy, Florida. He was then transferred to Company B,
415th Infantry, of the104th Division. His
final assignment was with Company B, 20th Armored
Division. Gagnon was involved in the engagements at Aachen to
Cologne, Remagen bridgehead to Bitterfield. His unit saw 185 days of
continuous combat. He was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge, Expert
Rifle, World War II Victory medal, Good Conduct Medal and his unit
received a Presidential Citation. Gagnon was discharged from the
Army on April 26, 1946 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
