2020-2021 New Student Registration

Online registration will take approximately 20-30 minutes for the first child and less time for subsequent siblings in the same household. If you need to step away, be sure to save your session and log back in to resume registration.

The registration process is not complete until the registration form, and all documentation is submitted and approved by Central Registration.

Follow the steps below to begin your child's registration process:


Step 1: To start the online registration process, gather the necessary documentation listed below.  All documentation must be uploaded to PowerSchool Enrollment.

Proof of residency in the school district: Provide one of the following documents to establish proof of residency: a Town of Brookhaven tax bill, a deed, mortgage statement; if renting, a lease and two utility bills (PSEG and phone/water bill), or the district's Affidavit of Landlord, plus proof of landlord's ownership, i.e., tax bill/deed.  Click here for Affidavit Landlord form.

An original birth certificate with a raised seal or a passport.

Immunization dates from a physician signed or a previous school. 
  
As of June 13, 2019, there is no longer a religious exemption to the requirement that children be vaccinated against measles and other diseases to attend public, private, or parochial school. Children who do not have the required immunizations must receive the first dose of vaccinations 14 days from the start of school.  Within 30 days of the first day of school, parents must show they have made appointments for all required follow-up doses.  Please check the CDC link below for a catch-up immunization schedule.

Transfer or discharge notice from the former school district (except kindergarten).

If a student has a disability, an IEP is required.

If this is the first child you are registering in the district through the PowerSchool online registration form, you will be required to create a PowerSchool Enrollment account before you can proceed. This account can be used to register any other children in the future as well. Please note that this is NOT a PowerSchool Parent Portal account username and password.
 
Step 3: You will receive an email message from Central Registration informing you of the status of your submission.
